Hi, I’m Sharon. Thanks for joining me on my journey to provide simple and healthy recipes for small batch cooking and baking.

Here, at Plated for Two, you will find recipes created for two. All recipes are made in a smaller batch but not necessarily “two servings.” In my recipe card you will have the option to place your curser on the “servings” and change the amount up or down.

It’s nice to have 4 servings sometimes so you can have a delicious leftover meal, just not four or five!

Maybe you haven’t started a family…or you are like me. As my kids grew up and left the nest, I never expected to feel a void from the lack of baking and cooking that was needed when they all lived at home.

I’ll be honest, when I had to downshift to cooking for two-my brain couldn’t wrap it’s head around making smaller portions of some of the dishes we all loved and enjoyed eating over the decades!

I still made a full recipe of my meatloaf and lasagna and many of my other favorites which meant binging on the leftovers for lunch and dinner for days. And lets talk about desserts. Gosh! I had to deprive my taste buds of my chocolate cherry cake with homemade chocolate icing because, well, it would have been just crazy to eat an entire 9 X 13 pan of that goodness myself!

Learning to cook for two, or three, if a bestie came to stay at my house for the weekend eventually became a necessity. I was tired of food going to waste. I had to rewire my brain and brush up on my math as I routinely use 1/4 and 1/8 measurements!

Finally, I got into the swing of downsizing my portions and recreating wonderful recipes. I was at a point at which my friends where always asking me to print out the recipes, that I decided to start my blog.

I hope you will join me and I can restore the joy of cooking for you , that I have found again. Please feel free to reach out to me with requests for small batch cooking (and baking ) of your favorite dishes.
